Single IP ISDL and ADSL customers willreceive a Self-Install Kit within 15 days of placing the order. Included in the Self-Install Kit are the following items:

  • DSL modem and power supply
  • DSL cable (same as a phone cable)
  • Ethernet cord
  • Line filters, including wall-mount filter (required to block ADSL noise from interfering with telephones on line)
  • Installation instructions and Troubleshooting Guide

If you have difficulty installing your DSL service, please call the Self-Install Help line number found in the order confirmation you received as soon as you placed your order, or the Self-Install support number included in the CPE box (some models only) . If you are unable to locate the number, please call Customer Care at 1-877-XDSL-ATT for support. We will schedule a Professional Installation for you if necessary. The Professional Installation is available for an additional fee. Please call Customer Care at 1-877-XDSL-ATT for additional details.

Please Note: Self-installation is not available in all areas.

Professional Installation

If you have six or more devices on the phone line (fax, phone, burglar alarm, TDD, etc), your order is ineligible for Self-Installation, and, will require a Professional Installation. A technician from AT&T's DSL supplier will install your Customer Premises Equipment (modem) at your location, activate the line, and perform any inside wiring if necessary.

NOTE: You will need to be present for this part of the access installation.

Certain serviced areas may require professional installation in some cases.


Your purchase of this option includes up to 10 free AT&T Business Internet Mail (AT&T BIM) accounts. After your DSL access has been activated, please Contact Us for your AT&T BIM account information. Then, follow the E-mail setup instructions to activate your e-mail account(s).
